"Catalina smile" What is it?

I am researching used boats and I think the Catalina 30 MKII is ideal for my needs. A few years ago, I remember reading about something called a "catalina smile". I did not understand the write up but then I did not know much about boats either. I have a thought that it was to do with delamination. Since then I have a few cruises in the San Juan and Gulf islands, Some blue water trips too. I hope I have enough knowledge to get me started on my own boat. Does someone have a description of this problem and does it concern the C30 Mk II. Ken.L

Yes on the C30 Mk II

It's a separation of the keel from the hull, slight, but disconcerting. Many feel it's because boats are incorrectly or inadvertently blocked when hauled. Lotsa stuff on the Forum Archives here. Try a search. Stu
