OK Catalina 25 owners, you've been asked this many times... please answer one more. I have never stepped the mast on my Catalina 25. The standing rigging was disconnected, so I had to re-attach all rigging. I tried to bring the mast back to pin it, however, the forward shrouds seemed to stop me short of the pinning plate. Do I need to raise the mast and then attach the forward shrouds, or am I doing something wrong. I have had much experience with a Starwind 22 mast stepping and it looks basically the same with the exception of the shrouds. Any help or advice would be appreciated. You can email your reply directly to me at starsail@belizemail.net, or post on the forum. Thanks

Yup, asked and answered, but best at www.catalina25-250.org. It's already right there. Stu

Disconnect the forward lowers

Have the backstay, the upper shrouds, and the rear lower shrouds connected before you raise the mast. Leave the forestay, and forward lower shrouds disconnected. After you raise the mast, connect the forestay, then the forward lower shrouds.

Thanks!!

Hey Mike and Stu, I thought that was the case, however, since she is new (at least to me), I thought I'd ask the experts. Jason
