Catalina 16.5 Motor?

Hello, I'd like to know what size motor other capri 16.5 owners are using and if they like it?

2.5HP for a C 16.5

I have 2.5 HP that provides plenty of power for getting in and out of the docks on inland lakes. I've never run it a full throttle. I would recommend getting a motor that at least has a neutral gear on it. The 360 degree swing for reverse is okay, but there have been many times where I wish I could shift into neutral while docking or retrieving.

Decided on a 3.3hp Mercury for C 16.5

Thanks for the reply. We decided on a 3.3hp Mercury since we will be dealing with tidal currents going in and out of Port Everglades and around bridges in the keys. The extra hp will hopefully help us get in ahead of the nasty thunder storms we get in S.Florida Thanks for your suggestion.
