How does one tighten the steering cable on the quadrant below deck? Mine has a little play. Do you lower the pulleys where it goes up to the steering post?

Steering cable adjustment

Jerry, The cables are adjusted by tightning the Take-Up Eye that is located where the cables attach to the quadrant, unless someone has modified your system. The idler wheels should not be adjusted. If they are loose, or not alligned with the cables then that is an indication that something else is wrong. If the king spoke on your wheel is vertical, then you should tighten each cable equally. If it is not vertical, then you can make it so by tightening one side more than the other. The Installation Instructions on the Edson web site has a brief description of the cable attachment and adjustment. Look under Tech Support/Chain and Wire Steering Systems.
