Cabin leaks

I have a 1987 O'Day 322 which has developed a strange problem. After a heavy rain, the trim piece under the main cabin hatch fills up with water and leaks onto the cabin floor. I removed the hatch and rebeded it but the problem did not go away. Since my high school physics teach said that water tends to flow downhill I looked at any possible sources of water that are at the same level or above the hatch frame and only found two - the mushroom vents (checked them out and they are well bedded) and the mast base. I am not comfortable playing around with the mast base unless I have a little more info. Does this leak situation sound familiar to anyone? Can anyone help me?

possible leak source

Have no reason to believe this is the source of your problem (not even sure the 322 is set up the same way) but can tell you I had a leak in my OD34 that drove me crazy. Finally found a loose screw in the wooden 'track' that the companionway hatch slides on. It was on the part of the track that goes under the hood that the hatch slides under. Had to remove the hood, remove and rebed the track and then all was well.
