I recently had the standing rigging replace on my 1989 Catalina 34 Standard Rig, Fin Keel. When the rigger resteped the mast it appears that he introduced more rake then there was previously. I noticed that the boat experiences weather helm (rounding up) sooner. I measured the rake using the main halyard and a weight, it appears to be approx 12" measured at the boom. I going to ask the rigger to adjust the rake and am trying to determine how much rake if any should be present. The manual states the mast should be perpendicular with zero rake. Is this correct? Will I loose my pointing ability when going to weather? Will this introduce lee helm? Thanks for your input. Still Learning, Dave
