Climbing Aboard

Mardon, I had a 25 w/no ladder so I used to stand on the outboard motor mount and hoist myself in-not so easy, particularly for older folks. I then bought a rope ladder that I would tie to a pair of cleats attatched to the traveler on the gunwale. Worked Ok. There is an out fit that makes what looks to be a nice s.s. boarding ladder that is mounted on the same traveler and folds up when not in use-I think its about $350 though. They advertise in the back pages of Latitudes and Attitudes Magazine. My current boat an O'D 26 with an inboard has a ladder permanently mounted on the stern transom and this works just fine too. Good Luck

Port side of Rudder on Transom

My boarding ladder is a fold down stainless steel afair from Garelick. It is mounted on the transom on the port side of the rudder. It's great, I use it when the boat is on the hard, as it is now, and it saves me from having to carry a ladder every time I visit the boat. If I get a chance, I'll take a pic of it over the weekend. If you want me to just send you a pic via email by all means send me an email at geof@ackme.com. I would tell you to go to the Garelick website, but it's under construciton right now. For future reference their URL is: www.garelick.com. Hope this helps! Geof

Port side on transom also

My ladder is also on the port side of the rudder mounted on the transom. It also appears at one time there was one on the port side just foward of the cockpit, the mounting hardware is still installed on the deck.
