Bleach question

We have a self-contained head on our H27 (seat rests on a 9 gal. tank, no overboard pumpout [Lake Michigan], flushed with pressure water), and when we pump out at the dock flush the tank with a water/Clorox mixture. Could this cause a reaction with the green stuff we treat the tank with? Or with the pumpout plumbing? Thank you.

Don't use bleach

Bleach is the most over-used, over-rated product used on boats...it doesn't do half of what people think it will. Since I don't know what "green stuff" you're using in the tank, I can't tell you how it will react with bleach (if it hasn't killed you yet, I doubt if it will)...but bleach degrades rubber and neoprene, only kills most of the bacteria that cause odor, and doesn't clean anything. Since it's our own product, I naturally recommend "C.P. Cleans Potties!" (it's in the online store here)...which is bio-enzymatic cleaner that actually does clean out the animal fats etc that make a toilet and tank "dirty"...kills odor on contact, and is a d'd fine product! :) But if you don't want to use that, you'd be better served just putting some detergent and water through it than bleach.
