Oday 22 1977 Bayville NJ
Cheapest way to install a Bimini on a 22' Oday 1977, any ideas, does anyone have one, so I can get some info.
The problem is the Backstay and Boom Haul is in the way, I know they sell very expensive ones that are split for this purpose.
That would be a last resort.

Thanks Ed J

Ed,
I just received an email from a guy in your area who owns an O'Day 222. He was asking about whether a Bimini top would work on his boat. Here's a youtube of a guy who bought a Taylor made Bimini for about $137.00 and the solution that he came up with for using it.

One of our YC member bought a cheap Bimini Top for his Hunter 27 and I think he paid under $300.00 for it. He seems to be quite satisfied with it. He told me that he could get me one for my O'Day 222 real cheap.

I would buy a cheap one and try it out. If you like it and want to change the material to Sunbrella, at least you have something of a pattern to go by later on.
As for me, I'll just keep setting up my "poor man's Bimini Top" until I can afford a good one some day.:D
