While taking down the mast this winter I snapped the foot or base of the mast (the metal piece on the bottom of the mast that fits into the step). Does anyone have any idea where I could find one or what I can do. Thanks.

Mast foot

You could go to a welding shop and have it straightened and repaired or Ida sailor Has them. http://www.idasailor.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=23&products_id=191&osCsid=c74831fcecd5c2e788550f7572b63866

Chris, I would suggest that you go to IDASailor and order a new foot. In fact, you could order a new foot and a new step from Joel and he will drill the tang at the back of the foot to match the step. If you order just the foot, you will need to have access to a drill press and a long drill bit. Additionally, Joel is more than willing to talk with you via telephone if you should have any questions or encounter any problems fitting the foot to the mast. I had to replace the foot on my Balboa 20, called IDASailor, ordered the piece and then made at least three follow-up calls for additional information/assistance to facilitate installation. It seems like it should be easy but Joel makes a point that at least 75% of the base of the mast MUST make direct contact with the foot. I had some trouble and had to relieve a bit of the outer ring of the foot in a couple of areas to be able to insert the foot into the mast to achieve that 75% direct contact. It wasn't difficult, used a dremel-type tool with carbide-tipped burr, but took my time. Hope this helps, Paul.

I agree with Paul. IDA Sailer will fabricate the foot for you. I broke the other piece that goes into the base of the mast and they sent me the exact peice. Installation was a breeze. Phil
