Bailer?

Hello Folks,While readying my newly acquired daysailer II I found a hole (round) mid-way between the center board and the transom. Is this the site for a self bailer for the bilge? and if so can I get the part from D&R? Has anyone got any other details on this sort of repair that would be helpful? Any light you could shed on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.Len Phelan

Your description of the hole sound roughly similar to the hole in my daysailor - except mine is right beside the centerboard trunk, and yes, it's round. Try a marine hardware store - I bought a plug that permits no water to seep through. They come in two sizes, roughly 1/2" or 1" in diameter, and as far as I know - two types: 1, a flip handle for quick insertion, and 2, a turn handle for keeping the boat on a mooring. I got the turn handle and my boat (on a slip) is bone dry (unless it rains!)Happy sailing.Kelly"Daisy Sail"
