Bahamas Cruising

My wife and I are heading out to Georgetown tomorrow
to sail "Grace" back to the Florida Keys with my son
Hans.

As I mentioned before the boat will be on the market
when we get back in a couple of weeks and I will put
the word out at this site as to the equipment and
condition at that time. Sounds like the engine
problem,if not solved has been identified and is not
serious, stuck kill switch...and maybe a burned out
starter solenoid. So we should have that running.

I had hoped to find a 2nd hand #1 genoa to take with
me as the wind is getting lighter and more southerly
as spring approaches, but I ran out of time when we
decided to join the boat in Georgetown, 10 days
earlier than anticipated.

The sail north will take us through the Exuma chain,
across the Yellow Bank to Rose Island just east of
Nassau, then a big jump across the deep water of
Tongue of the Ocean to the Berry Islands or perhaps
Andros, which I've never visited.

Then across the Great Bahama Banks to either Gun Cay
or South Riding Rock where we will take our leave for
the crossing of the Straits of Florida and the Gulf
Stream to arrive in Key Largo. We've found a yard to
store "Grace" in, at reasonable rates, but are still
hoping to find a buyer before we start the long drive
back to Washinton.

If anyone is interested that hasn't already contacted
me drop me a line at: daubie99@...
I'll send a spec sheet to all interested parties on
our arrival back in the keys.

Best wishes to all,

Jim Daubenberger "Daubie"
