Hello all,I have a 1986 P36-2. Saterday, the wife and I dove on the bottom and scrubbed the growth....always a fun job! Anyway, on my way back onto the boat, I was looking at the chain plate that is attached on the transom for the backstay and noticed that the welds attaching the side supports to the top peice of the upper part had seperated with a gap of about 1/2 inch. This failure was hidden from view by the rub rail that hangs over the weld. Upon further inspection, the connecting peice that sits on the rub rail was angled almost perfectly with the backstay, when it should be pointing straight up.I am having this fixed this week from my welding friend that did my centerboard sheave and will be as good as new. But thank God I found this before the wind got the better of it!Just wanted everybody to know so you can inspect.....just look at the peice under the rub rail. I will take pictures tommarow when I remove it.Greg1986 P36-2Four the Soul
