Anchor chain for Catalina 440 (2005)

Hi,

I am buying a Catalina 440 (2005) but need to buy an anchor chain. The old one has been lost... What would be the advisable / maximum length the chain locker can contain you think? Any idea about official size of the shackles to fit the winch?

I would like to add that Hunter 46 rode consists of 5/16” x 50 feet G43 G4 chain (minimum length) and 5/8" x 300 feet 8-Plait Nylon Rope albeit my anchor locker could stow significantly more chain since the locker is hugh (large enough for me to crawl in and turn turnaround). Others in the forum like more chain based on their anchoring conditions. I also built a false bottom inside the anchor locker to keep the chain and rope off the bottom since it does not completely free drain, which was the subject of a separate thread I posted on SBO.
