We just obtained a 1988 AMF Alcort Puffer Sailboat with a drain in the middle-bottom of the boat that allows water to drain from the boat. It also has bottom rear drain. Does this allow for internal water ballast, or should it be plugged?
Hi, We have a 1980 Puffer. If I understand your question, you are referring to the drain plug in the stern. You need to keep it plugged. Any water that collects under the liner can be dained out after you are done for the day. On our boat the bailer on the stb. side has a cap. It allows the water to drain out when underway. There is also a Yahoo Puffer group that has a lot of good info.Good sailing.
