Does anyone have experience with these on a Catalina 36 Mark 1? Would be great to have a seat like the Mark 2's. Concerns would be interference from the split backstay cables, and the two corner locker doors. Would appreciate any insights from anyone with experience with these.

Great addition!

I have made many upgrades to my 1986 C36 Mk 1, and one of the best has been these sternrail seats. They are easy to install and provide the best seat in the cockpit! Great for guests who can remain out of the way and still see everything going on. The seats swivel on the aft pulpit to access the aft locker (watch your head when leaning in there!) and don't take much room at all. I have a single backstay, so can't say whether they'd interfere with the split. All in all, I have nothing bad to say about them. Good luck, Trevor

Stern Rail Seat

Yup, seat. One. It was a gift from a friend, who'd sailed with me and knew I didn't want to buy a pair, since the barbeque was on the port side with the adjustable split backstay vang. The single one seat on the starboard side is great on our Mk I C34, pretty much the same stern arrangement as your C36 Mk I. Never feels like it's ever in the way. We have an adjustable split backstay, no problems there either. Make sure you get the seat with the built in drink holder!
