I respectfully disagree with some of the member's comments regarding the guy who posted his B-23 for sale. People who are in the market for a boat sometimes join a discussion group in order to get opinions about a boat model and learn what kind of issues they might face. This guy was also offering an alternative mast-raising system (although I was never able to find the documents). For those folks it is a convinience and a service to also receive information on the sale of boats they are interested in. It is also a convinience and service for the person selling as they presumably been a faithful subscriber. I myself am considering moving up to a different kind of sailboat. I joined 3 discussion groups and as a result I am in communication with a guy selling his boat in the spring. So I've got first shot at it. I agree that commercial dealers should be banned. The other issue is that there is a degree of trust and confidence in purchasing from a member of this group, because they are by definition boat-owners who are commited to maintaining and improving their Bayfields. That's my opinion. Thanks.
