Apparently have some topsides leaks on my '81 H30... sending water down the inner liner, to drip off onto settees shelves etc... has anyone dealt with rebedding hardware on the coach roof?? This appears difficult, due to solid inner liner... looks like this must be cut to get at mounting bolts etc?? What about the teak handrails?... are those mounted with bolts (i.e., nuts on the bolts, between outer deck & inner liner), or were wood screws used? Appreciate any advice! Thanx

In the same boat

Looks like we are in the same boat with leaks from the top sides. I recently purchased my 1980 H30 this past summer. The topsides leak and collect on the shelves. No I do not have a solution as of yet but as I start taking things apart I can E mail you with my findings. I would appreciate any info you might also find. My E mail is agtrax@mnsi.net Talk to you soon Murray

I solved majority of leaks!

First get a small rachet 7/16 and a big screwdriver. With one mate on deck and one crawling around inside tighten all thru-hull toe rail bolts. The hull to deck joint has a rubber butyl membrain in between the hull joint and will help to stop leaks when tightened. Next take off the covers from the stancheon bolts inside and again tighten those nuts and bolts. Final step is to take off the plates on deck around the shroud straps and clean out the old bedding compound and reseal. That should take care of the majority of your problem.

h30 leaks

I second all the things that greg said. In addition, I found that most of my leaks out of the overhead inner liner (on a 1977 H30) were coming from the mast foot mounting and also where the wires from the mast penetrate the cabin top. It seeps onto the upper side of the inner liner and then comes out everywhere. Since fixing these problems I have had no leaks for about a year now. Had no leaks from the hand rails. Henry

Check your portlights

I've got a '82 H-30. Most solutions have been covered here with the obvious exception of the ports. Try to remove them and reseal with silicone. Mine have unfortunately been done with adhesive, so until I can replace all the ports, I've put a bead of silicone around the edges of the portlights. This helped a lot.
