6hp tohatsu idles rough

Have a 2003 4 stroke 6hp tohatsu. recently it tends to stall on idle, it used to purrr. I'm thinking a new fuel filter and a carb rebuilt are in order, am I right?

I'm thinking just getting a generic fuel filter, will this one work? I don't know the diameter of my fuel line.

also, what carb kit should I get? I can't seem to find it on ebay or defender. thx

More than likely you have clogged jets within the carb. If a fuel additive/miracle drug cant clear it, youll have to disassemble and clean the carb.

But it could also be lack of fuel from a poor fuel pump, etc..
