30 Hunter vibration

I have a 1981 30ft Hunter with a 2 GM Yanmar diesel engine. At 2000 rpm's I get a loud knocking. It sounds like someone is under the boat knocking on the hull. This past spring the cutless bearing was replaced and the knock remained. Any suggestions?

Have the cutlass bearing inspected again, also check motor mounts and alignment.MC

Same noise

I had the same noise ,when I started the boat or under way.Check shaft alinement and make sure mounts are not grounding out.I took a rag around the shaft and moved the shaft untill the noise went away.

Don't ignore this problem. I did, and now I have to replace the shaft, strut cutlas bearing, and get everything aligned. What could have been taken care of without a lot of expense is now costing in the thousdand. Hopefully I will now be able to motor a little faster without all that vibration.
