hello, I have recently acquired a 1977 Newport 27. I am looking for the part that holds to boom to the mast. I imagine (since mine is missing) that is a block with a slot at one end for the end of the boom to hook into and a hole at the other end to swivel in the mast forks. If you have a Newport 27 let me know what is in this spot for sure. Thanks Dan (corrected email address) mcnamara@wcnet.org

Gooseneck

What you are looking for is a gooseneck. I also have a Newport 27s 76 vintage. You'll have many happy hours with this boat. I'll forward to you a picture of the gooseneck your looking for but you can find it at any rigging shop.

Finding a gooseneck

I find this a interesting topic, since my gooseneck broke on a trip out the Channel Islands off So. Calif. 2 weeks ago. I'm having a hard time locating a replacement. Mine rides on a flat track on the mast that is one and a half inches wide. Anyone know where I can get such a thing? Kurt
