You have to look from the inside where the post is. For example, one of them is accessed behind the waste cover in the bathroom. I’ve heard from others that in some cases you need to remove some of the cabinetry molding.

The one thing I learned was to not try to get every single bit of residual off with the eraser wheel. Get the decal/vinyl off with the eraser wheel, then I got the residual off with a little MEK

eraser wheel / whizzy wheel. Keep the RPMs low, don't let it get hot. I just removed all my graphics and lettering - it was a breeze. This is one of the best tools for the job that I have ever owned. I purchased the Whizzy Wheel from Amazon and was happy with it.

Ron - do you have a pic to share? That sounds like a great idea. The previous owner docked at St Joe's in Michigan - the docks there are all piling-type. I do think that probably had a lot to do with the looseness of all the stanchions . . .
