    Calling all Catalina 275 owners

Thanks, so far I really like the boat. I am currently only using the self-tacking jib so I can't really comment on the larger sails. The original owner installed the tracks and added the larger genoas. I'm not a racer so the self-tacker is perfect for me.

    Calling all Catalina 275 owners

I have the boat in the link now. It still has the NY registration numbers on it. I didn’t buy it from the original owner but think I got a pretty good deal on it. It came with 7 sails and a pretty nice instrument set up. The table and instruments mount on aluminum brackets that pin into holes...

Standing water under engine. Catalina 275

Ok, good to know about the bilge under the engine. This is my first sailboat, my power boat just let everything into the bilge. It is fresh/lake water. Part of it is my fault, trying to drain the raw water side to winterize the engine. I thought it would drain to the bilge. It seems like my...

Standing water under engine. Catalina 275

I have a couple of inches of standing water under the engine that is not draining into the bilge. Shouldn’t there be a drain to allow this water to enter the bilge?

It was originally in New York, then a few months in Florida. I had it shipped from Florida.

    Catalina 275 trailer height?

I wish I had seen this earlier as that is now my boat and it sat in my driveway for a week. I put it in the water yesterday. I would say it’s between 10 and 11 feet. The aft deck was right at 6 feet and the mast was probably 4 feet above the cockpit floor.

    Calling all Catalina 275 owners

Hello, I just took delivery of my 275 Last week and got it in the water and mast stepped yesterday. The boat formerly known as ”Limey”, will be kept in Lake Grapevine in north Texas. (If renaming a boat is bad luck, is renaming it a second time good luck?) This is my first sailboat, so I will...

    VHF Coax

That's interesting. I've been a ham operator for several years and have run various sizes of coax in my trucks and home and they all required the connectors to be the correct size on the coax side. Shakespeare sells at least three different connectors. One for RG58, one for RG8U/RG213, and...

    VHF Coax

The PL259 connectors are sized for the type of cable. Hoping someone can tell me the size of cable they used on the Catalina 275 Sport. The boat I'm getting doesn't have a VHF or antenna installed.

    VHF Coax

I should be taking delivery of my new to me 275 in the next couple of weeks. I have read that there is antenna coax run in the mast. Does anyone know what size they used and if there is already a connector? I'm going to add an antenna and need to order the pl-259 connector. Thanks, Bill

    Yanmar SD20 Saildrive

I have a contract on a 275 that is currently in salt water and I will be putting it on a fresh water lake. Do I need to change the anodes to magnesium? Are these the only two?
