You might look at non traditional methods. There is a fire rope, a tube filled with retardant under pressure that delivers its load where the “rope” gets melted thru- the hot spot. There are also fire balls. Amazon.com : fire balls extinguisher
Great time. Probably figuring how to minimize snow getting inside the hood. Had ~5” snow on deck next morning. Also fun with Ferry who was entering Long Harbour as we rounded Salt Spring. AIS was very helpful as visibility was less than 1/4mile, we did finally see the ferry for less than a...
If you main issue is water, the series filters won’t help. The first filter will fill up with water and block all flow (water or fuel) to the second filter. Your better off putting the two in parallel and going with either 10 or 30 micron filters.
labor was free / probably 2-3 hours, but I added sensors and mounted my RS11 15’ away From the engine.
cost From my memory
oil pressure gauge/switch $25
Oil temp sensor $15
SeaTalkNG T bb cable and drop $50 ( portion of 5way)
wire & ring terminals $25
I would recommend the EMU-1...
BS. Both the RS11 and EMU1 can put vital engine data on N2K. I see oil pressure& temp. Coolant temp, RPM and voltage on my Raymarine CP and i70s.
can you use a J1708 to NEMA converter you directly read this data from the engines cpu?? No - they don’t have CPU’s like a common rail diesel...
Remember glow plugs draw about 11A each, so a relay is recommended, with a relay 15srconds is all you should need, without ~30 Seconds.
I believe the start on key switch and glow plug button/toggle switched places when Universal started installing glow plug relays — the reason is their...
mph Kohn your comment cuts me to the quick. I only suggested a sawsall on the speed sensor. It was Ken who recommended it for the sink and raw water. I am truest dissapointed that we ran out of time to give you a new speed sensor.
You can cut and splice the SeaTalkNG cable. They don’t recommend it. Just use gel filled scotch locks or euro style terminal strip, or best of all male and female NMEA 2000 field installable ends.
I upsized my helm guard and ran all wires down the tubes, but 1” will hold a lot of wires.
Ferrules are crimped wire ends (like ring terminals) that have a rod shaped end.
here is anArticle
euro terminal strips are the ones you insert the bare wire (or ferrule) in the side and screw down from top to clamp the wire n place. ABYC requires this type of connection to use a plate to...

That plate only holds the ends of the pull pull conduits and doesn’t support the pedestal. The nuts under it do hold the pedestal to the deck. You should check the condition of the core material around the pedestal it may be rotted
