new(used) sails for Hunter 34 (with a shortened mast?)

I'm hoping to save some $ by going with a used sail for our Hunter 34 and I'm wondering how the B&R rig comes into the equation. Since the rig keeps the mast in a permanently arched condition it seems important that I get a sail that takes that into consideration. Wouldn't a sail made for a...

    holding tank fills itself

The pump-out thru hull does have a loop with siphon breaker valve so I'm thinking that the flush-water intake line is letting sea water drain slowly into the bowl and then out to the holding tank. I guess the "Joker valve" is suppose to prevent that from happening and it's a relatively new...

Replacement parts for a shore power connector

Marinco sent the replacement part at no charge and since the new part has the quick-connect capability I ordered two of the new style rings so that I can convert both of my shorepower cords. You don't find that kind of service very often.

    holding tank fills itself

The holding tank on our Hunter 34 keeps filling up with sea water while we're away from the boat. We're in a marina so the pump-out seacock stays closed all the time and the sea water intake for flushing gets closed whenever we leave the boat. What could be going wrong?

Air Conditioning installation on 1984 34

That's my favorite watering hole although I haven't spent much time looking for better alternatives since we moved the boat from Moss Point, MS to Island Cove Marina at Bayou Chico. Maybe we'll manage to cross paths sometime. Good luck with the install.

Replacement parts for a shore power connector

Yes. I have emailed them to ask about availability of parts. Hopefully I can convert the fitting and my shorepower cord to their newer 1/8 turn fittings.

Replacement parts for a shore power connector

I have an '84 Hunter 34 and the threaded ring on the shore power connector has broken. It's a separate part that is held in place with three small screws but I have no idea who manufacured the shore power connector. I hate to replace the entire connector at about $150 when all that's broken is a...

Air Conditioning installation on 1984 34

I found the vents at a local RV parts store but here they are online. http://www.rvpartscountry.com/DirectionalRegisterBlack4wShut-off If you use the 4" flexible plastic pipe from your local home improvement store you'll also be able to use the T's and elbo's for splits and sharp turns. As for...

Air Conditioning installation on 1984 34

Insulated duct is a waste of space. I also went with the aft dinette seat because it was wasted space anyway. Here's some advice you may not hear anywhere else. Forget about all that insulation on the duct work. All of your duct is inside your air condictioned space so it doesn't need to be...

    Parts for a shorepower socket

The plastic threaded ring on our 30A shorepower connector broke and I'm hoping that parts are available to replace the broken piece rather than replacement of the entire socket. It's a 1084 H34 if that helps. Anybody know where I need to start looking? The broken part is on the socket that's...

    Alternator not charging

We recently replaced the original alternator on the Yanmar 3GM in our Hunter 34 with a high output version (I think it's a Hatachi). The wires all seemed to match up with the exception of an extra single yellow wire on the back of the alternator. It doesn't appear that we are getting any juice...

    Yanmar instrument panel overhaul

Mission accomplished but still need a warning beeper I got the panel rebuilt with new instruments using artificial wood from Home Depot as the panel material but found out that the PO had cut up the internal wiring on the warning beeper. I haven't had any luck getting a Yanmar parts supplier to...

    navpod mods

Actually I haven't sealed it yet because I'm still going in/out of it to finish the wiring. When I'm done I'll probably use a thin bead of the GE Ultraglaze that Bomar sells for rebedding the hatch lenses but there are probably other "gasket-in-a-tube" products that will work fine. As for the...

    navpod mods

I purchased a precut Navpod off Ebay for $65 and made a face panel from the 1/4" acrylic that I purchased to rebuild my Bomar hatches. I have extra acrylic so if I decide to rearrange instruments I'll just make a new face panel. You could use the same technique to cut a small panel just large...
