    Wood Gunwales

Does anybody elese have, or seen, wood gunwales on an SJ21? Mine even had embossed stars on the stern rail. I took them off to refinish separately so they are not shown in the pictures. Not sure if it's teak or mahogany.

    Pop Top?

and now for something completely different... Thank you all for the useful comments, the Admiral and I are in a quandry. We had an S2 8.0 that was useless in light air, we only went fast in small craft advisory LOL. So we wanted something smaller we could trailer and better in light air, hence...

    Pop Top?

Thanks Stu. The one without the pop top also has the roller furling which I really wanted on my last boat but reading here it makes stepping the mask more difficult which wasn't an issue on my last boat since I never trailered it.

    Pop Top?

I am looking to buy a Catalina 22 and I've seen several I like the difference being some have the pop top and others do not. I think I would like one but don't know if it's worth passing on a boat in better condition without one. Any thought? How much do you use it? I will be mostly daysailing...

    8.0c centerboard

I didn't know the 8.0c could come with a centerboard. I thought they were either 2'6" shoal Draft (my 1977 8.0) or 4' full keel. You may want tocheck out Brett's site, loaded with great info... http://web.mac.com/overholtzer/impliedconsent/Welcome.html

    This weekend

I looked for you last weekend, I was doing some chainplate repair as well. I saw a lot of people working in the yard but didn't spot your S2. Are you at the bottom of the yard or the top? What's your boats name? John S2 8.0(c) Bohemia Vista

    Wide Load Permits?

I've been accused on this thread of being a liar and irresponsible, but I'm glad you didn't have any trouble. Which state made it difficult to get a permit?

    Wide Load Permits?

Excuse me but the majority of responses seem to agree with me, you calling the majority of us liars and irresponsible or just me?

    Wide Load Permits?

Advice? I didn't give advice, I gave my opinion. Read the original post, Git-r-Done already knows his boat is over the legal limit and would legally require a permit. He asked if other owners ignored the requirement. From a Spinsheet review of the 7.9... The shallow draft of the 7.9 would...

    Emergency Tiller

I had to have the marina replace my driveshaft and coupler this year. They had to remove the rudder and when they put everything back together the wheel felt a lot tighter. That's when I started wondering what I would do if the steering went. I've already lost power this year when the driveshaft...
