    Yes it is CCW. Push up on the lense and twist CCW. You will meet resistance but give it a little force and you will feel it slip past a clip holding it in place.

    I agree on the 1/8th" line. I also used a light line. Here is another trick I have used when dropping the genoa in a blow. First is to rig your storm jib with a small permanant pendant. Then when it is time to swith out the Genoa for the storm jib... head up into the wind, pull the jib...

    I mounted mine on the mast crutch pole.... and then just left it installed all the time. I also have my GPS and VHF ant. there (see pics)

    Unless you have an inverter on your boat, you cannot use the standard outlets to charge your phone unless you are connected to shore power. It is reather easy to install a "cigarette lighter" charger that would be 12V.
