    Origo 6000 stove advice

As I said earlier in this thread, I have a brand new in the box Origo 3000 and all the fixings. However, I am now keen to find the oven, or a full Origo 6000. Anybody got any current leads?

CNG tank fill or exchange... PNW... Anacortes, Port Townsend???

Why not go alcohol? As stated, that is what I am going to do. I think the tradeoffs in terms of slower cooking and the like are not relevant to me. I don't want pressurized gas of any kind in my boat. I am keeping CNG for now, but will not go to LPG. Would be very expensive to try to put...

CNG tank fill or exchange... PNW... Anacortes, Port Townsend???

Totally. As I said earlier in this thread....I am going to go to alcohol when my chandlery quits the CNG biz.... I am just sad that those stoves are disappearing

CNG tank fill or exchange... PNW... Anacortes, Port Townsend???

I live 20 minutes from Boston’s airport. Most big airports run their busses on CNG. I have not used it (cuz my chandlery has tanks for exchange) but it is unattended and easy to use. I assume it is the same in many cities.

    Origo 6000 stove advice

I think Dometic just wants to steer people to higher cost items. Not sure. I snagged a 3000 and put it into storage so I will have one once I can no longer get CNG.

CNG tank fill or exchange... PNW... Anacortes, Port Townsend???

You can but I don’t care for exposed tanks. ;-). That said I am pretty finicky about the clean lines of the boat so ignore me!!

CNG tank fill or exchange... PNW... Anacortes, Port Townsend???

I think CNG is better from a safety standpoint for sure. That said it is becoming very hard to find. It just didn't catch on, perhaps because of the super high pressure the tanks hold, mine just got filled to 2500 psi. I know people diss alcohol but that will be my next stove. That said, the...

CNG tank fill or exchange... PNW... Anacortes, Port Townsend???

Lucky for me, my local chandlery still exchanges tanks. They get their supply from the Corp Brothers in Providence, Rhode Island. I guess they are now called Tech Air. Anyway. It is a national company so they might be worth contacting.

Hot Water Heater and Salt Water

Lots more digging and I found an installation manual for Isotemp water heaters and it says this. " 3.3 Connections to Engine Isotemp water heaters may be used with either fresh water or raw water-cooled engines. For good results an operating temperature of 130°F to 165°F is recommended."

Hot Water Heater and Salt Water

Need some advice. The old The Raritan hot water heater on my boat has given up the ghost. It has only been hooked to shore power to operate. That's because my engine is a 39 year old Yanmar 2QM15 that I estimate has around 500 hours on it. It starts and runs smoothly. It has raw water...

    Origo 6000 stove advice

So, I have a 1980 original CNG system and lucky for me, the Chandlery in my town still sells CNG (at about 100 bucks a fill.....) but my tank is from 1993 and they won't fill it. So. Buy a new tank for 350 bucks plus a hundred more for a fill, or chuck the whole mess and put in an alcohol...
