    Ripped off at Point Wilson?

How unsuccessful would a person be doing the race without a spinnaker?

    Ripped off at Point Wilson?

Only six crossings.......the worse sea state every time has been at Admiralty Inslet at Marrowstone Point. Each time going with the wind and tide so it was a advantage. I’ve had to motor across the strait going north every time and been able to sail south 2 out of 3. Everytime going south I’ve...

Fuel is in waste holding tank what to do ?

Gasoline has a flashpoint of -44f anything left after blowing the system out for 10 or so minutes after getting the liquid out is residue that no longer is a flammable issue. Again, the methane produced in the tank is going to produce much more flammable gas than any gasoline vapor when in use...

Fuel is in waste holding tank what to do ?

The possibility of flammable gasoline vapor in the system is minimal compared to the methane from the septic that will be in there also.

    Sailrite Sail Kits

The Sailrite machines are pretty impressive. I almost didn’t get the zigzag model. I’m glad I did.

    grinding sound starting??

Don't let it go on for long. The grinding is probably a incomplete meshing of the benix gear with the ring gear on the flywheel. Both will wear down the edge of the gears and then not engage at all or get worse. The ring gear/flywheel will need to be replaced which means removing the...

    Sailrite Sail Kits

Started my Laser sail kit today and I’m very impressed. It is well laid out and the instructions are clear. The only thing I would include in them is a sequence of work flow. There is a key to the workflow given the size of the project pieces vs the capacity of a Sailrite machine. I also feel...

Do you make a Wifi hotspot? Do you use a dedicated one?

I have a Cradlepoint I take from work that I normally have in my car. Works great and you can hook anything up to it with a cat5 cable also. When we were up in the islands I turned off roaming on my work cell phone but didn’t think about the Cradlepoint. $360 for a 4 day trip! My awesome...

Just bought a CAL34, question on wiring Depth Finder

Consider running it to to the cockpit were you can use it while underway. Having it at the chart table only would be a real pain in the butt.

Mysterious Yanmar Vibration - Only in forward gear

Sounds like the vibration is from a continuous slip and manually shifting it at the trans applies more force which stops the slip switch stops the vibration. Thanks!

Mysterious Yanmar Vibration - Only in forward gear

How does shifting it manually make the transmission shutter go away compared to using the shifter? Thanks for circling back with a resolution.

Mysterious Yanmar Vibration - Only in forward gear

How "not perfect" is the alignment? A popular maximum is .003" spacing between the shaft and tans couplers. I believe this is a little excessive but it gives you a idea of how aligned it should be. Picture of the spacer you are talking about it needed as that doesn't sound right. Have you...

Then you don't owe Poseidon a darn thing.....name away my good friend!

    Awwww, Nuts!!!

Figure out the cost and inform the seasoned sailor of the total for 1/2 unless there was specific discussion on “your break it you pay for it”. I for the life of me could not imagine loaning my boat out or using those boat AirBnB programs to make some side hustle. Good luck.

    H34 Lazy jacks

I designed and installed mine on my H30. One thing I did not account for is when I bring them down to out the cover on I anticipated hooking them on the reek hook at the goose neck then tighten them up. This left a bunch of loose line along the boom.

    Now have name on boat

Don’t forget to pay Poseidon for the name change. A shot of dark rum worked for me along with getting rid of anything (minus documents) with the name on it. It pays to keep him on your side.
