    Times Up?

I can handle almost anything if I move at a reasonable pace but we all know that sometimes you have to move quickly. When moving quickly is painful it becomes a safety issue.

    Times Up?

This past summer has shown us that our time for long distance cruising is done. Time to downsize to a little less work and stay closer to home. To that end we have listed Sun Gypsy and hope that she finds a new home and provides new adventures for someone else...

I can understand the want for stealth but that is for sure not a pretty ship!

    North Salish Sea Tour

Thanks Leo. The more things to look at the merrier. I didn’t think of that, was more thinking injectors or injection pump. I’d rather it was something less expensive of coarse.

    North Salish Sea Tour

We planned a little holiday tour of the North Salish Sea with a guest. Planned pick up was in Sidney so we spent a couple of days there picking up supplies and doing routine maintenance. I noticed the oil level was a little high after a recent oil change. Do I have diesel fuel leaking into my...

How's Your Bottom Doing These Days ?

I think it depends on where you moor your boat and sail it. Our previous boat was kept on the Fraser River and sailed In salt water. We went ten years without painting the bottom. Fraser River silt kept it sanded smooth as silk. ( not sure the paint was doing any good at all). With this boat we...

That’s why I carry such a big tool box when we go cruising. In Port Sidney today waiting for a passenger. @Terry Cox says that friends of his have cleared customs here in the last week but it’s sure not busy yet.

How long has it been since you cleaned your unmentionables?

Have been getting a taste of our own medicine (smoke) the last couple of days. Cold front coming in tonight should bring some relief for both of us. Rain in the forecast tonight/ tomorrow.

Looks like a little smoke in the air. After all the forest fires the last couple of years it’s a wonder we have any trees left.

I have much the same but have added 200 watts of solar. Makes a world of difference.

    Ellen Bay, Prevost Island

By the look of its bow it’s an icebreaker. Maybe run into it if we try the NW Passage.

That’s a joint USN and RCN torpedo range and as we don’t have a working submarine it’s mostly you guys that use it. It’s been open most of this year because the border is closed.

I know your guys have guns. Don’t know that ours do, I’ve never seen any signs of one on our cutters. Not sure which side is talking about going on strike. If they do what’s to stop your journey?

It It’s pretty crowded for around here with the border still closed. When we go to the mid-coast we often go a couple of weeks without seeing another cruising boat. Pure heaven!
