    Sending Unit Leaking

Here in Nova Scotia, fuel oil furnace service techs use a powder to cover a fuel oil spill when working on your furnace. It absorbs the liquid as well as the odour. Presently unable to get a product name but it sure does work and clean up with a vacuum cleaner. A call call to an oil burner...

Brown stuff no rotary device yet.

The email was to Warren Pandy and it did have three photos showing what the problem is. I have no indication that the photos did not go through along with the email. Don't wish to get sidetracked here and I certainly accept your valid and factual critique. Thank you for comments and those of...

Brown stuff no rotary device yet.

Have contacted catalina regarding this matter and the only response has been "picture is worth a thousand words" . Extremely disappointed as catalina has been very helpful with my previous cat30. I trust this is not the demise of what used to be called "customer service", this really sours my...

Brown stuff no rotary device yet.

Have a 2002 Catalina 310 Hull 166, on the hard here in Nova Scotia. Was away from the boat for about a week, weather was all over the place, rain, snow, sun, fog and pandemic. Upon uncovering the bilge I noted in its forward section there was very dark brown "water". It wasn't there before. I...

    in mast furling drilling

So if I am careful I can drill a hole in this forward section and get the wires out to the spreaders. Just leaves the mast step concern for running wires. Thank you for your response.

    in mast furling drilling

Yes, my concern is getting power/wires from inside the mast to the spreaders. Also unsure of how to get the wires from mast step on deck to power panel. On my previous catalina 30 it was reasonably straight forward, on the 310 not so much.

    in mast furling drilling

Have a catalina 310 #166 2002 vintage with in mast furling. I would like to add wires going to the spreaders for wi fi antenna and a tv antenna. May even add another wire going to the masthead for ais or another light. With the in mast furling I am loathe to drill into the mast to run wires...

    External regulator

I have a Catalina 30 #2444, with a 2GM Yanmar raw water cooled. The 55 amp Hitachi alternator with internal regulator was giving me 14.4 volts but little or no amps. Qualified and trusted diesel electric firm tested and advised either rebuild or new. Went for new about $300 CDN. Want to install...
