Hello, everyone.
I have a line that runs around a single block (starboard stern) then forward through 3 sets of smaller blocks and wraps around the forestay at the deck.
There's nothing attached to the line whatsoever.
Anyone have any idea what it could be for?
It's on an '82 C25 if that helps.

Thanks for reading.

wraps around the forestay at the deck.
By wraps around, do you mean it is wrapped to be temporarily tied there waiting to be unwrapped and used?

If that is the condition, then it may be an Asymmetrical tack line, used to adjust the height of the tack.

It may be the furling line for a jib furler. The drum was removed and the line was wrapped waiting till the furler could be reinstalled.

Images would help, but that is what it sounds like.
