Guess I am just lucky with staying in water with lengthened spring lines etc. when the marina came apart during Ivan as shown in pix

Anyway getting ready for IDA now, hope it stays small and far to west, but experience says nasty part to NE of track will rack us in the Panhandle. At least we will get storm surge and lots of feeder bands as it heads for New Orleans area.

Got asked one time how I like the Sea Eagle dinghy I bought, love the size, solid bottom to step into from the swim platform and the quick inflation using their 12 volt pump and my accessory 12 volt source ( Truck)

My main and jib halyards raise at lower at the mast. Did you change that so that you can do it in the cockpit? I didn't notice that issue until we stepped the mast yesterday when we launched it.

No my halyards raise and lower at the base of the mast. but the PO had a couple of blocks at the base of the mast so I can run the ends of halyards thru them and tie of on the handrails so I can lower them from the cockpit when I am single handling back to dock under sail. see pix of mast base.

This works better because of the pop top I do not have a lot of area at each side to put lines and locks for the halyards all the way back to the cockpit. Need the exercise anyway!

Better picture of set up at base of mast with two accessory blocks route halyard ends to cockpit for temp release from cockpit or cabin top.

@Jacktar looks great and I hope the cruise has been a great time as well. Have you ever compared the Sea Eagle to the Intex Mariner 4? I use theIintex version and love it as well. Very sturdy for a lower priced affordable dingy. How did she do on the trip for you?

Does fine, 600 for boat, 10 for motor and last but not least 79 for replacement battery . The composition of the hull and interior rigid inflatable floor resistant to sand , gravel etc and you can actually stand up in it!

By the way, cleaned hull while anchored and noted the old tilt up rudder was really getting corroded near the water line. sooooo decided to order the new ruddercraft tilt up from Catalina Direct. Planned on as birthday present to self in July, but right now the back order interval is 12 weeks so we will see if if makes it.
