How Do I turn off my Catalina 310 cockpit lights?

They are actually just forward of the shore power receptacle and breaker on the C310.

    Kite sailing

I see this a lot at Hookipa on the North Shore of Maui. Folks will pull up on their way home from work and set up their kites on the beach. They can walk out on the hard reef and step onto the waves, and off they go. Only experienced riders here. The tradewinds are pretty strong, and these...

Deep keel vs Shoal keel experience

:plus:I bought my C310 in Florida. If she didn't have the shallow draft wing keel, I wouldn't have been doing much sailing at all. As Ward said, I wouldn't even be able to leave my slip 90% of the time! So, yes, it's a trade-off. Sailing or not sailing? Hmmm......

    Refrigerator - Compressor and Evaporator

Would the conduit handle pre-charged lines with fittings? I don't have access anymore to a vacuum pump or charging manifold, so pre-charged components look attractive to me if I ever need to upgrade my system.

    Refrigerator - Compressor and Evaporator

I know what you mean. I have run new cables in that area several times, but I don't recall seeing the tubing. I suspect the original tubing was installed during the factory build, and is buried. It is at times like this we, as boat owners, must get creative.

    Refrigerator - Compressor and Evaporator

Do you have a C310? I assume by copper coil, you mean the copper tubing that runs from the evaporator to the compressor. It might be easier to leave the old tubing in place, and run the new tubing wherever it is convenient.

    Catalina 310 transmission problems

This is the exact problem my friend had with his new Hurth trannies, and this issue has been discussed at length before on this forum. He had a new Universal engine installed on his boat a few years ago, with a new Hurth tranny. A year later, he had the delayed shift into forward issue, and...

    Engine alarm chirps

Fairly common issue on the M25-xpb. Usually a loose connection on the oil pressure switch. Maybe try crimping the slide on connector a bit, and zip tie the harness to secure the leads.

    Catalina 310 transmission problems

When did Hurth go out of business? Not surprising that they did. A few years ago, a friend was on his third new Hurth tranny, with no feedback from Hurth about what was wrong with the first two trannies.

    Fridge/ice box condensation lines

Good idea, but on the C310, the fridge drain already shares the pump with the shower drain in the head.

    Fridge/ice box condensation lines

Got it! Seems like lazy engineering on Catalina's part. Another valve to select either fridge or icebox would have been an easy fix at the factory.

    Schaefer 2100 furling line

No need for dyneema, etc. Actually, a line one size larger than standard is desirable for a better "hand", as Marchem describes. There are times, when the breeze kicks up, that the standard line felt like it was cutting into my hand. I went one size larger, but didn't modify the drum. As...

    Fridge/ice box condensation lines

Sounds like a modification by a previous owner. My boat, hull #231, has no drain in the dry storage, and the fridge is plumbed to the head.

How Do I turn off my Catalina 310 cockpit lights?

They don't sound like original equipment. At least, I don't have them on my 2003 C310. Are the wires visible in the aft lazerett? If so, maybe install your own switch.

    BOATUS Urges Action on GPS

Yikes. Like there isn't enough going on in the world right now. Now I have to wonder if, by the time I get my boat in the water, my GPS will be reliable.
