What would you change in this plan? (fiberglass part of a rotten core job)

I made them the same size as what they were originally. I used the slow and it worked out perfectly. The time was exactly what I needed. Even though I bought the extra slow, I didn't use it. The temps was over 85. I appreciate the comments. The job was finished 6 weeks ago. If I observe...

    What is this?

Doesn't ABYC specify yellow or black as the correct color for negative?

    What is this?

Is an isolator necessary? There's a perko off/1/all/2 switch and the charger is for multiple batteries and is wired to each battery on separate charging circuits.

    What is this?

The black in the middle is negative. The blacks on the outer terminals just go to the battery switch.

    What is this?

Saw this today as I was removing my batteries. The center is a negative cable, but the other terminals are positive cables.

Not glass them in. But waterproof them by epoxy-ing the holes so that if a leak occurs water doesn't wick into the wood. Kind of the same idea as the drill fill and drill again method for waterproofing drilled holes.

The reef lines have internal blocks? I thought they'd be straight through. The outhaul I'm sure has internal blocks.

    Leaking Muffler

I looked at the muffler for a a drain plug and found the muffler in a pretty bad state of rusting. From what I understand, if an engine is at or near the waterline the exhaust needs a 'water-lift' type muffler. The muffler in the picture, which is the original type I think, doesn't give me...

    Leaking Muffler

Thanks Roy! I will figure out someway to check to see if it's the drain plug. Heck, I supposed it could be open.

    Leaking Muffler

I saw those but was confused by the muffler being 1 1/2" in the first post. After re-reading it it looks like it's a 2 in ID hose. :) Thanks for links Still hoping someone chimes in about the other questions :) Trying to find my best options for removal and re-installation of a new one.

    Leaking Muffler

Thanks for the heads up! I only ran in gear enough to see that the three positions worked properly. RPM was as low as could be.

    Leaking Muffler

Dear Diary: (scroll to TL;DR to skip the story) I first started the engine (13HP 2GM) once this year, for about 3 seconds, in early August. I decided to start the engine this weekend. I filled up a five gallon bucket with water in the cockpit and ran a hose down to the raw water intake hose and...

What would you change in this plan? (fiberglass part of a rotten core job)

Got the new core installed, epoxied and old skin put on. Still have to bevel and glass the kerfs this coming weekend. I was surprised at how easy it was to work with epoxy. I thought that given a 15-20 minute pot time I'd have to rush the whole job. But to my surprise it didn't really matter...

What would you change in this plan? (fiberglass part of a rotten core job)

Thanks Sandpiper, Core is in and epoxied. Tomorrow I am going to grind off the squeeze out. I'll post pictures tomorrow. I didn't get any today. I thought the bevel had to 12 times the hole or in this case - kerf width. I'll have to figure something out. At 1/4 inch, how many layers of 6...
