    C275 Problems

I lock my companionway by closing the top hatch and putting a padlock through the hole drilled in the aft edge of the sliding hatch.

Take a look at the C275 listed for sale on Yacht World by RCR Yachts in Sodus Pt, NY. This boat has an extra set of outboard tracks, an extra set of aft winches, 135 and 150% genoas and a Code Zero spinnaker in addition to the asym. The shrouds are in their standard outboard position. Clearly...

    Catalina 275 Sailing Tips

I have a 3Di NorDac jib (106%) on my boat. It is a great upwind sail, love it. However I'm not so sure I would purchase a 3Di main. The material is very stiff and would likely be difficult to flake. I'll purchase a new main next year and need to decide, full battens or not. The C275 gets a...

Your ratings seem appropriate. Here is my boat's (s/v Cloud Nine, hull #9) history: I bought my boat new in 2017 and when I applied for a PHRF-Chesapeake rating, I was assigned 138 spin and 141 NS. I immediately appealed, citing much high ratings for a couple of other boats with published...

    Catalina 275 Sailing Tips

I am considering purchasing a couple of new sails next year, a main and a asym racing spinnaker. My current and standard/stock main has all full battens. I race my boat in club races and am considering a radial cut sail with 2 full upper and 2 partial lower battens for improved ability for...

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely consider the Kiwi prop.

Welcome Thos! I'll likely add add a folding prop for next season and was considering a Gori prop. How do you like your Kiwi prop? Compared to the fixed 2 blade prop, do you see a notable difference in sailing speed? Does it seem to justify the 13 sec/mile change in your PHRF rating? Any...

Hi Snarkhunter, I bought my C275 early this year and have been sailing and racing out of Annapolis (Back Creek) this season. It would be great to see another C275 on the Annapolis waters! Let me know if you would like to see my boat and join me for a sail or a race.

    C275 Problems

My mast steaming light was destroyed this weekend by a flogging halyard and sail. Does any owner know the manufacturer and model number of the light? Knowing will save me a second trip up the mast. I am guessing that it is either an Aqua Signal 25 or a Hella Marine light. Catalina does not...

    Calling all Catalina 275 owners

Hello All. I purchased Hull #9 in January and launched in Annapolis last week. I am the boat's first owner. My previous boat, which I owned for 15 years was a C&C 110 (37 ft). I plan to race my boat "Cloud Nine" and was surprised by the rating assigned by the handicappers for PHRF...

    C275 Problems

Thanks. The pin on my boat was not attached and was in the top galley drawer. Now installed, it does the job of securing the ice box. I'll introduce myself and my boat in "Calling all Catalina 275 owners."

    C275 Problems

My new Catalina 275 Sport was launched last week and I went for a first sail on Saturday. All was fine, except the ice box drawer, which slides open on starboard tack and slams shut on port tack. What type of latch have other owners installed to secure the drawer? Thanks.

Do you happen to have the measurements of the stock C275 Sport asymmetrical spinnaker? I need the measurements to apply for a PHRF rating. Measurements of the luff, leach and mid-section girth are required. When racing non-spin, do you pole out the genoa? If so, do you use a J-length pole?
