    A very sad time

I am quite sure that all of the dogs we have loved and lost are playing together in dog heaven.

Hey, you Nanooks from the north... What is your launch date?

Cover is off the boat, even though there is snow in the forecast. Cleaned the cabin, flushed the water tank, a few things left to do but marina opens May 15th so that's when the boat goes in! Then every weekend (and a few weeks mixed in) after that we are sailing til October. Sweet!

Another dog question... getting a big dog aboard

:D:D:DYeah, we lifted our Wheaten terrier in and out the boat with her life vest for awhile, until one day she surprised us by jumping over the gunwale into the dingy; shortly after that with encouragement, she leapt aboard. I think she decided better to be the master of her own fate as opposed...

    Composting toilet

Been reading about composting toilets for use on a boat. Anyone have any experience with one?

    Morgan 32

Looks a little light to me - not much hardware holding the standing rigging.

    Morgan 32

Looking at 1982 Morgan 32; a little concerned about the chainplate design - anyone know about the integrity/strength of this part of the boat? Not planning on circumnavigation, but don't want to be wondering in a big blow. Any info would be appreciated.

Ever move to a Powerboat and did you regret it?

Know what a pain it is, how much more work it is, not getting any younger BUT - there is nothing like a nicely trimmed sail upwind. My thoughts.

    BoatUS - "Port Risk Ashore"

I agree. Insurance companies are regulated and REQUIRED by law to provide WRITTEN notice prior to cancellation.

    Too much draft?

We have the survey for this boat & if money were no object...unfortunately, out of our price range.

    Too much draft?

The answer to "why Naples?" Is my 91 years young dad (from whom I inherited the sailing bug)...only been there once, and not wedded to that particular location. Reconsidering the Mariner; looking at a Tartan 34-shoal keel/centerboard; draws 3'11", board up. Thanks to all of you for posting...

    Too much draft?

Making plans for the "next" chapter; bought the 15' day sailor, loved it; the next year bought the 22' little cruiser, out sailing all weekend every weekend, loved it. Now seriously considering a live-aboard, and looking at a 36' Mariner. Question for those who know: 5' draft too deep for the...

Still on the hard but the mast is up; just making sure rigging is all good before we trailer to the marina in a month. Noticed leaks in the chain plates that weren't there before (surely from the tension from the stays). Any thoughts on how best to tackle that issue?

    Spare Main Halyard?

We are the new owners of a 1981 Hunter 22. Weather is finally improving so we're finally able to get out and work on the boat. Looking at the mast there appear to be three halyards; one clearly for the jib, but looks like two for main. On this particular boat PO replaced jib & main halyards as...

    Outhaul on Kenyon boom

We purchased a 1981 Hunter 22 in the fall. Boat is in great shape, but hasn't been on the water in a while. The lines on the boom were kind of a mess, and the outhaul line has ended up inside the boom. Searched the internet for diagrams of what the lines should look like inside the boom to no...

    It's still winter

Yeah it's still winter, but we moved our boat out of the snow bank with the tractor last night, found a Chapman's on sale at West Marine yesterday, and ordered a new 25# Mantus today. When the Lake thaws, we plan on being the first boat in the marina!
