    Pimp my C275

I also wanted to add a second battery, pressure water, and improve the electronics installation of the previous owner. The tiller pilot and hull transmitter for the wireless instruments were just tacked into the bilge blower power. I had this panel built by Blue Sea to give me isolated engine...

    Pimp my C275

Here are a few mods I have made. First off I had Zarcor build a set of custom doors so I could ditch the washboards.

    275 Traveler and Main Sheet

I take it your main sheet isn't continuous either. I will probably leave mine separated since a splice could bind up in the blocks. Either way, I probably need to change out my traveler line. It is cut so that the stopper knot is against the jam cleat when at full travel on either side...

    275 Traveler and Main Sheet

I may have used the wrong term for the traveler. In the manual it is a single line that is tied to both sides of the traveler and the remaining line loops between the jam cleats on either side of the boat. Mine is two separate lines, each knotted right before it goes into the jam cleat. My...

    275 Traveler and Main Sheet

I was reading through the 275 Sport manual today and noticed that the traveler and main sheet are supposed to be continuous lines. On my boat these lines have been cut. Is there any benefit to having these as continuous lines or am I better off with them separated. It looks like the traveler...

It looks like it has inboard shrouds. The shrouds are very close to the cabin window and there are links in the cabin. The boat also has in mast furling main.

Thanks, so far I really like the boat. I am currently only using the self-tacking jib so I can't really comment on the larger sails. The original owner installed the tracks and added the larger genoas. I'm not a racer so the self-tacker is perfect for me.

I have the boat in the link now. It still has the NY registration numbers on it. I didn’t buy it from the original owner but think I got a pretty good deal on it. It came with 7 sails and a pretty nice instrument set up. The table and instruments mount on aluminum brackets that pin into holes...

Standing water under engine. Catalina 275

Ok, good to know about the bilge under the engine. This is my first sailboat, my power boat just let everything into the bilge. It is fresh/lake water. Part of it is my fault, trying to drain the raw water side to winterize the engine. I thought it would drain to the bilge. It seems like my...

Standing water under engine. Catalina 275

I have a couple of inches of standing water under the engine that is not draining into the bilge. Shouldn’t there be a drain to allow this water to enter the bilge?

    Catalina 275 trailer height?

I wish I had seen this earlier as that is now my boat and it sat in my driveway for a week. I put it in the water yesterday. I would say it’s between 10 and 11 feet. The aft deck was right at 6 feet and the mast was probably 4 feet above the cockpit floor.
