Spider Cracks On Each Corner on H15 Dam - Advice on Repair?

Had the cracks repaired by a pro. He did a proper job cutting the gelcoat back to the base layer and rebuilding the areas. He also compounded, polished and waxed the whole hull. It looks fabulous now. I tried the Magicezy but had a poor result. The hull is fibreglass Dave. I'll post some...

Spider Cracks On Each Corner on H15 Dam - Advice on Repair?

Sage advice, thanks. I was considering using that magicezy fine crack filler. I figured that if it didn't work I'd follow the traditional method.

Spider Cracks On Each Corner on H15 Dam - Advice on Repair?

Today I noticed that there are quite a few spider cracks on the outside corners of the rear dam of my H15. I have been cleaning up the boat for two days prior to putting her up for sale. I didn't see them when the boat was out in the bright sunlight while I was washing her but today rolled her...

    Boom kicker instalation

It's been over 3 years since I installed the Boom Kicker but I don't remember it being complicated. Unfortunately I can't have a look at my mast as I recently had a knee replacement operation and can't climb into my boat. Also we have different boats and different model Boom Kickers. If another...

    Boom kicker instalation

You don't need to replace the vang hardware on the mast as the boom kicker mast attachment sits above the vang attachment On the mast, Like my model 312, your model 400 has a webbing sling on the boom end and attaches to the mast via a connector that slides down the mast slot and is screwed in...

That is why I foamed the mast & boom as I also wanted a windex. You can't have a masthead float and a windex (which I prefer over other wind direction telltales). Re a temporary or permanent solution; Even inserting foam noodles will turn out to be pretty permanent. Note that you have to seal...

Looking at Google Maps I see that Catagena has a bay. Do you sail there or further out in the Sea? Have a look at the owners photos in the Hunter section ( http://sbo.sailboatowners.com/index.php?option=com_album&Itemid=297&catid=1295&page=model&use_brand=Hunter&mn=15 ). You can see the area of...

You have a lot of grit going out in those conditions. I prefer 12-17 knots. I get great performance out of the H15 then. I have sailed on Long Island Sound, the Atlantic off The Hamptens, Port Phillip Bay near Melbourne and in the Indian Ocean off Fremantle, Western Australia but never in the...

    Greetings from Cartagena (Spain)

What do you mean by "bad conditions". Wind speed?,Wave height?, swell, etc. I've sailed my Hunter 15 daysailer in 25+ Knots on large bays in our river but I wouldn't have wanted to sail in those conditions on the ocean off Western Australia.

    Bucc 18 or Capri 14.2?

I think Joe presented a great analysis. I almost purchased a Capri 14.2 but ultimately went for the ,then new, Hunter 15 because of design reasons. My reason for buying a boat of that size were mostly the same as you stated in your original post. My previous boat was a local Aussie design very...

    First Sail

With a car like that I'm sure that it is no problem. I have a Hunter 15, probably 200-300lbs lighter than the H170. I pull that around with a 1.6 Litre Peugeot sport.

Have fun this summer on Lake Tahoe. Will you have to tow the boat over the Donner Pass?

    Bought a 170

Good luck with the new boat. I am sure that you will love it as much as I do my H15. This is a great forum for the new Hunter day sailor owner. I found it a very helpful resource after I bought my boat. Make sure you check out the owner modifications section for H170/18's and H146/15's. They...
