This boat is new to me. So I think I'll tough it out for a bit before I decide if a Bimini is needed. In the meantime, I'll try Dave Groshong's suggestion of a big hat. (with tie downs).

Would it be practical to install a Bimini Top of of some sort so I can get some break from the sun? Is it possible to rig one that is not constantly in the way and interfering with sailing the boat?

I'm still trying to decide how I will cut about a foot off of the new Boom. Normally i'd use my radial arm saw with a carbide blade. THis material is pretty heavy aluminum. I guess it does'n hurt to try.
