Mast lighting "wiring" for easiest mast lowering

Just saw the exception to this. But man, don't think I will be sitting out in the dark. I think I will hang a lantern. Thanks for the info!

Mast lighting "wiring" for easiest mast lowering

Its a catboat with free standing mast. Think I might make something to hang with the halyard and tie off to the stern or bow.

Mast lighting "wiring" for easiest mast lowering

? This is what it says: Anchored Vessels At night: All vessels at anchor must display anchor lights If your vessel is less than 164 feet (50 meters) in length, then its anchor light is an all-round white light visible where it can best be seen from all directions (See Figure 8 )

The lantern is interesting, but not sure how it would be legal since wouldn't be visible 360 due to the mast partially blocking view.

Mast lighting "wiring" for easiest mast lowering

I just downsized to a 20' boat to explore and need to figure out what I am going to do for a anchor light. My last boat was not a trailerable boat, so I never worried about bringing the mast down. What is the easiest but still safe and effective way of having an anchor light that meets coast...

Thank you all so much. I put an offer in on this boat and trailer so we shall see. I am thinking I might change out axle and leaf springs if I get it. Is it as simple as that?

    Trailer and tire size question

Hi all, I am looking to down size to a trailer size as my last post indicates. I am real interested in a 20' and it has a single axle with really small wheels and tires. I have read that long trips should have a double axle. Will this trip really limit my exploring to short local trips? If so...

1998 Hake Seaward Fox cat rigged?

Anyone have any experience with the Seaward Fox cat rigged boats? Found one and really like it but can only find one owner review (which was good) online. Great looking boat and lots of room in the cabin for a 20' boat. I think this one will sell fast even though it seems way over priced at...

Set me straight on this "bluewater" talk

I have been looking for my second boat for a while now. Am I the only one that struggles with the thought that humans have been crossing the 7 seas for thousands of years on anything they could find, but todays technology that costs a small fortune is said to not be capable of the task? I...

SJ24, more than just a racer?

I'm also looking at a couple Catalina 22's. Maybe that would fit better and racing will be more beer can than serious anyway.
