V berth hatch on the cherubini hunter 36

Thanks for the info! And I've already moved my boat down last autumn, single-handed it all the way. I left it down there for hurricane season and will be flying back in October to cross to French Polynesia next spring

V berth hatch on the cherubini hunter 36

Yes, my hinge broke the exact same way! This is amazing - thanks so much for this, you may have saved me 1500CAD. Will report back when I'm back at the boat in a couple of months

V berth hatch on the cherubini hunter 36

Posting this in case anyone does a search and finds this - I emailed Bomar with the serial number I'd written down before I left and they got back to me with the hatch type! It is C139MED-STD-B Now I just need to figure out how to get one down to Mexico... sigh

V berth hatch on the cherubini hunter 36

Hey, The hinge on my hatch above the vberth broke JUST as I was leaving the boat for the summer in Mexico. So I need to replace it - but I don't have any way to make measurements! I heard that Bomar lost all the jigs for these hatches in a fire - has anyone else replaced this hatch and if so...

    37 cutter to sloop

Also Blaise do you have any more info about your jib tracks? I was thinking about doing a similar mod myself

    37 cutter to sloop

Funnily enough I'm trying to figure out some way to add a removable solent stay onto my sloop that I can stick a small hank on storm jib onto. A slutter, if you will.

Question for rardiH36 regarding inside Jib tracks

I'm really sorry to hear about your wife Rardi. I didn't realise that the deck was hollow there - that definitely complicates things. Maybe I'll experiment with the hauler/tweaker as suggested to see if I can get any improvement.

Question for rardiH36 regarding inside Jib tracks

So I remember reading a while ago that rardi was installing inside jib tracks to help point better but haven't heard from him in a while. I'm curious - did it work out? And did any other 36 owners do it? If so, did it increase pointing enough to be worth the hassle?

    Wet Core

I did this and it worked well. Make sure to tape up starting at the bottom so water doesn't get through the seams.

Does anyone know what the 36 was designed for?

I hope so! Continuing down to Mexico and then the South Pacific hopefully

Does anyone know what the 36 was designed for?

Well that's the thing - the 36 has a tiny cockpit (really too small tbh), big water tanks, a great hull shape (i've made headway into 6' steep chop and 25 knots), high ballast to weight ratio and outboard stanchions but the 37 has all that and the cutter rig and is a bit heavier - so I'm not...

Does anyone know what the 36 was designed for?

The 36' cherubini hunters seem to be a bit of an odd ball out of the whole series - only made for 2 years and they don't really seem to have a niche like the other models do (37' is a designed-for bluewater boat, the 25/27 designed to be great trailer sailers etc etc). It's lighter than the 37'...

    Outhaul replacement line

I managed to replace mine, blocks and all without taking the boom off the mast. I took the end of the boom furthest from the mast off, and replaced everything. Fish tape helps. The block connected to a pin that went through on the mast side, so I tied a loop in the new line and hooked it and got...

    H36 "Fixed" Boom Vang

RV 20-1SL 28-44 ft No problem with mainsheet routing, it attached to a padeye to the aft of the vang connection and was out the way of everything.
