As long as I was fabricating a new top for the aft bench seat I did away with seatback. The original seatback crowded the companionway ladder and hindered access to the double berth (sail locker) under the cockpit. So far the seatback has not been missed, but then we never convert the table to a berth.

Apparently in the original layout of the Hunter 25.5 the battery was underneath the aft bench seat in the main cabin. I had to rebuild this bench seat, so I cut the seat into two pieces, added support for both halves ... and mounted much of the DC power system in this space. This includes the one battery, the man DC switch, the battery charger and fuses that protect the wiring harnesses that feed the outboard, the bilge pump, and the two DC panels.

This is NOT the original galley sink fixture, but it works ... and is low profile ... so I re-used it.

I mounted the galley fresh water pump on the backside of the access cover. Removing the cover now provides access to both the tank outlet and the pump.

Access cover removed. Notice the two athwart ship floor joists that have been added. These provide better support for cabin sole and the bilge access cover. (Also, notice the bottom of the forward joist has been cut away to allow better access to the bilge pump.)
