I assembled both legs onto a 2 x 6 using exterior screws and glue.
First a dry fit
Installed a 2 x 4 though bolted to the v-berth with s.s. screws and lock nuts
Assembled with exterior 1/4" plywood and hung. I shot two coats of white epoxy followed by two coats of polyurethane
