have zippers on both Bimini and dodger. Can you advise what is a good product to maintain them for easy slide?

Thanks, Jerry

Chapstick might offer some additional UV protection too, if you bought the type that was SPF.

Zippy Cool. The best canvas shops recommend it ! We use it on all our canvas zippers.

We prefer lube that is more like wax or paste than a spray. Run the zips to and fro Re apply every 3 months and you will be pleased you did.

We've have terrible problems with corrosion and salt on our dodger/bimini zippers. It's probably because we live on the hook and do not wash them after sailing. We lube the zippers and sliders with petroleum jelly frequently and fill the sliders up with the stuff so salt can't get in, on those we do not use often.
We've tried all the lubes and suggested products above (and plenty of others) except the Zippy Cool and none has worked even a little bit, especially the PTEF products which gave us a false sense of success.
Once again, I'm certain our problems stem from constantly sailing without fresh water rinsing them, or using them often enough.

My canvas shop recommends Zipper Lube, it is a Lanolin based product that comes in a stick form. Supposedly used by the USCG for zippers on their diver suits.
When replacing zipper pulls try to avoid using the "metal" pulls, they're made of zinc.
Rinsing your zippers with fresh water after a dousing of salt is a good idea.

Be very careful with any of the spray zipper lubes, plastic Windows on Dodgers and biminis are easily damaged by carrier solvents, sunscreen products, and lubricants.
