Zinc pencil in engine heat exchanger

Question. My Universal M3-20 diesel has a zinc pencil. In the manual it also shows a drain in the same place on the exchanger. When I pull the pencil, will fresh water coolant or salt water drain out?

Salt water will drain out. That is why the zinc is in that section of the heat exchange.
