My daughter is attending a sailing camp for two weeks. The Xcite is the featured sailboat along with the Hunter 140's. I decided to pay a visit today and check out the new boats. Wow, what a disappointment the Xcite turned out to be. 16 boats are currently laid up because the mast step connection has failed. It is a spot welded post which holds the mast to the keel. These boats have only been exposed to UV for two months at most. The bow bumper has already turned yellow and developed bubbles or poor workmanship which produced bubbles in manufacture. The kids hate these boats.

Well then

We are to take from you diatribe that we own poorly built boats?, most of us here spent more than $1900.00 on a toy. Sorry the kids hate them-hey why don't YOU supply them with some fine yachts. By the way just what do you own??? (Tired of ignorant Hunter bashers)

Objective

Seems the original post was fairly objective. He provides some details about real problems on multiple boats. If someone is armed with the facts, then its not bashing. No matter what the price of the boat, it should be soundly built. The Xcite is a cool little boat. Hopefully Hunter will get QC in line. Ron Mehringer s/v Hydro-Therapy
