I installed the WP-30 last season and everything seems to work fine except that after I release the clutch and go to manual mode I get binding after about 10 or 15 mins. of steering by hand. If I re-engage to the auto pilot and let it take over for a few mins then go back to manual it will work fine for a while then it starts binding again.... Anyone have this problem?

Mine too...Here's why

The WP30 is belt driven. In the earlier production models the belt gets sticky & won't slip free when the clutch is released. Since this can be a major hazard (aka can't steer the boat) Simrad offered a replacement under warranty. I did not take them up on it (to my regret). The quick fix is to put the wheel hard over with the clutch released. this accesses the part of the belt that hasn't been mated to the gear & usually slips free. You an also adjust the clutch tension screw (located under the lever) to give the belt more play. Let me know if you decide to get the belt replaced, it might inspire me to do the same.
