I own an 8 year old Catalina 34 Mark 2. the mast head (anchor)light has failed. The electrician informs me that the positive cable is joinjed at the base of the mast and that is where the problem lies. the obvious but most expensive way to repair is to lift the mast. has anybody experienced this problem and fixed with an alternative method. We though about drilling a hole (say 1-1.5 inch) in the side of the mast and hooking out the cable -then sealing with a plate tapped and screwed on. This may not work however, if the cable is in a conduit. any ideas would be appreciated. David
