I have a 1980 Catalina 30 that needs Windows resealed. The boat is in Mexico and I can't get a reseal kit. Can I use butyl tape instead or would a car window shop have the proper rubber seals. Any info as to how to reseal Windows without the kit would be of great help. Thanks

Where are you leaking between glass and frame or frame and coach top?? If glass and frame you need new rubber. If frame and coach you can use Dow 795 ( this is in the kit).

I used butyl gutter sealer in a caulking tube to reseal the window frames to the topsides of my C27. for the glass to frame seal if it was thoroughly cleaned silicone could be used there but enough of it to seal would squeeze out a lot and would need prompt clean up.
I would recommend the kit if you can get ahold of it but it can be done with out it.
